RDSPs

Thanks to the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP), eligible Canadians can receive up to $90,000 in government assistance. RDSP’s can provide long-term, tax-sheltered savings option for Canadians with disabilities, and is the only savings option that gives you access to:

 

RDSP Advantages

  • Earnings can accumulate tax-deferred until money is withdrawn
  • No annual contribution limit (lifetime limit is $200,000)
  • No impact on other government tax and disability benefits for B.C. beneficiaries
  • Contributions can be made by the beneficiary or on their behalf
  • Parents and grandparents can transfer RRSP/ RRIF savings when they pass away
  • Eligible recipients can claim Grant and Bond money for past years going back to 2008
