Notice to Members: Changes to Interac e-Transfer.

Interac now requires new e-Transfer security answers (the response to the question the sender asks the recipient before funds are transfered) to all security answers set prior to September 20, 2018. Passwords created after that date are not required to create a new password.

Any security answers not updated by September 1, 2019 will be automatically deleted.

If you are sending money to anyone with a Canadian Credit Union or Bank account, INTERAC® e-Transfer is a quick, secure, and seamless way to do so at anytime, from any location. Sending money internationally is done through a simple Wire Transfer, but for your security, will require an in branch signature.

INTERACĀ® e-Transfer






Send or receive money in a snap with Interac e-Transfer. All you need is an email and/or mobile phone number and an account at a Canadian financial institution. As a sender, you don't need to worry about figuring out where the person banks and they won't know where you do your banking, because all account details and financial institutions are kept confidential.

There is no charge for sending or accepting funds, and the Daily Limit is currently set at $6000.

Wire Transfers

Wire transfers allow you to send money almost anywhere in the world, and allow you do so in almost any currency. For your security, Canadian financial institutions do not let these transactions occur over online banking. However, the process is still quite simple, and just requires a quick visit to the branch. Depending on what you are planning to send, and to where you wish to send it, there are different information requirements. To expedite the process, give us a phone call before you come in to the branch, and we can make sure you have all the correct info when you arrive.

  1. Go to www.gfcu.com
  2. Login to online banking with your member number and passcode
  3. Click “transfer money” on the left side of the page
  4. Click “Interac e-Transfer”
  5. Enter the transaction details
(you will need the recipients email address or cell phone number to complete the transaction)
