For e-Transfers, all you need is an email and/or mobile phone number and you can send money to anyone in Canada that banks with a major financial institution. You don’t need any more information from than that. Just "tap, tap, and send".The money is not actually sent by email or text, it travels through the normally secured routes, making eTransfers one of the most secure methods of sending funds within Canada.

A new feature making this service even more diverse is the ability to request funds. Family, friends, customers - whoever you need money from - so long as they are banking within Canada, can be sent an e-Transfer request.Initially, members were free to send funds as required, but now, instead of waiting and hoping the other party remembers to send your funds, you can send the request and get that transfer initiated in the fastest and most secure fashion.

A no-fee way for gfcu members to receive money, fast.
Ready to save even more time? Now you can set up the Autodeposit function for your INTERAC e-Transfers. All you have to do is register and confirm your email address and banking information. From there on out, any e-Transfer sent to you will be deposited without the need for security questions. Instead, the process will be automated on the banking side, creating an even more secure process.Members sending money to an Autodeposit recipient will be notified and are asked to confirm they wish to send the money right now.

Register for auto deposit. Having funds automatically deposited into your account removes the risk of a criminal intercepting the deposit email.

Select questions and answers that are not easy for a third party to guess and cannot easily be found on social media. If the notification is intercepted, it will be harder for a criminal to answer and steal the funds.
